Internal Complaint Committee

In case of any harassment/grievance, female students and staff members are advised to contact any of the members of the Committee to resolve the issue at the earliest

Objectives of the ICC

  • To sustain the dignity of women.
  • To facilitate congenial working environment so that any female employee/student is not subjected to gender specific discrimination.
  • To consider the complaint of the grievances from female teaching staff, non- teaching staff and students and investigate them thoroughly within stipulated time.
  • To ensure confidentiality and time bound response to the complaints.
  • To heighten awareness and sensitivity to this important issue amongst all the female staff and students. For this purpose motivational and awareness activities shall be organized.

Roles and Responsibilities of ICC

  • To receive the complaint from the female employees on harassment and discrimination in the workplace by other employees.
  • To receive the complaint from female students on harassment and discrimination in the classroom and in relation to academic activities by faculty /staff/student.
  • To receive the complaint from female residents on harassment, assault and other forms of misbehaviour by employees / student.
  • The ICC will examine particular complaints and will make recommendations on actions to be taken on specific complaints
  • The committee will also arrange programs on Women’s Day and at other times, as is deemed necessary.

Student/ Faculty/ Staff has any grievances they can post in here by filling up a simple form.

Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell

All India Council for Technical Education Regulations, 2016 vide no. F AICTE/WH/2016 (Gender sensitization, prevention and prohibition of sexual harassment of women employees and students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions), Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) has been formed in FAMT to prevent sexual harassment of woman at work place.

Internal Complaint Committee sensitises the female faculty members and students on the prevention and prohibition of sexual harassment of woman at work place. According the Supreme Court’s order, Sexual Harassment is any unwelcome:

  • Physical contact and advances
  • Demand or request for sexual favors
  • Sexually coloured remarks
  • Display of pornographic content in any form
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal and non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
  • In keeping with the Supreme Court guidelines, FAMT established ICC against sexual harassment and atrocities against women at the workplace.
Objectives
  • To promote awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a dignified and safe environment for women on campus.
  • To provide a neutral, confidential and supportive environment for the campus community who may have been sexually harassed.
  • To ensure fair and timely resolution of complaints about sexual harassment.
  • To provide information regarding counselling and support services on the campus.
  • To ensure that students, faculty and staff are provided with current and comprehensive information on sexual harassment and assault.

Gender Sensitization Cell

The Statutory Committee Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is formed As per Section 4 All India Council for Technical Education (Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions) Regulations, 2016 vide No. F. AICTE/ WH/ 2016/ 01 dated 10th June, 2016, The Committee has been formed in our institution to settle/in order to ensure transparency of genuine grievances/complaints of Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students, harassment by fellow students, etc. issues to provide a mechanism to innocent students and stakeholders for redressal of their grievances/complaints etc., if and when they arise..

  • To develop an organizational framework to resolve genuine Complaints.
  • To provide the students/faculties access to immediate, hassle free resource to have their grievances redressed.
  • To enlighten the students/faculties on their duties and responsibilities to access benefits due under the polices.
  • To establish structured interactions with students/faculties to elicit information on their expectation.
  • To make the institution student-friendly.
Procedure
  • An aggrieved one shall make an application first to the committee Chairperson.
  • After verifying the facts and discussed with the head of the concerned department, chairman will place the matter before the committee which shall try to redress the grievance within a reasonable time.
  • While dealing with the complaint, the Committee shall observe law of natural justice and hear the complainant and concerned people.
  • If anyone is not satisfied with the redressal offered by the committee, the committee shall make appropriate recommendations to the registrar of the affiliated university within a reasonable time, preferably within 15 days. On approval by the registrar, the final decision shall be communicated to the student through the Head of the Institute.
